I agree that the wine industry is going through some significant structural changes. on the big picture we have the cultural and generational shifts you referred to, and locally I think we are just starting to feel the ramifications of the CSM gorilla cutting a big chunk of their fruit orders (40%?).
also wanted to point out the wine spectator top 100 had a surprising number of wines under $60.
I haven't seen the Spectator's full list and the Thuse has not yet published their Top 100 of the Year. Those lists are weighted in various ways, and will always include some "affordable" options (that generally disappear overnight and/or double in price - just sayin'....) I'm going back into the studio to work on a PaulG & Friends EP with more acoustic fingerstyle originals (and at least one new alt-rock tune). Hoping to nail some gigs over the next couple of months.
