The shipping thing is a headscratcher. I can't believe that a winemaker pours their heart and soul into a few bottles and sends them off to an early demise that way. Was it a distributor who made that call? Even here in sunny California I only order wines for shipping in spring/fall. Sort of inexcusable... I want to track down that WWV merlot, sounds like a winner for me. Thanks Paul!

I agree. I've been in touch with the winery owner who seems as perplexed as I am. I may never know the whole story.
