Thanks, Paul. I have had older wine corks disintergrate on me which is quite messy. I found a similar one for $85, I might go that route. We do have some pricey bottles from Walla Walla and Napa wineries (Long Shadows, for instance!). By the way, I am Ross Stevenson's step mom. It was nice to "meet" you "in person" on Substack!
Yes, expensive. It only makes sense if you have a cellar full of old wines worth hundreds of dollars each. Once you start collecting 1st and 2nd growth Bordeaux, Grand Cru Burgundy and top tier Napa wines $145 for a tool that won't shred those old corks doesn't seem so high. (Not that I collect such wines myself being a starving wine writer offering a free Substack.)
